ABOUT THE POSITION:

The City of Monterey is currently recruiting for a Risk Manager. This is a full-time position in the Finance Department. Under direction, the Risk Manager plans, organizes, conducts, and directs the activities of the City’s risk management programs, including but not limited to insurance, government claims administration, workers’ compensation and employee safety, damage to City property, loss control, contract insurance and indemnification, and budget preparation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university with course work in business administration, public administration, insurance or financial management or related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible, professional level experience in risk management. Experience in a public agency is desirable.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
