Pocono Organics is poised to be the largest Regenerative Organic Farm in North America, sprawling over 380 acres in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Pocono Organics has partnered with Rodale Institute, the largest independent organic research station in the world and true pioneers and industry leaders in regenerative organic farming practices.

We have built more than 38,000 square feet of greenhouse growing space during our first phase of construction, and our greenhouses stand at 35 feet tall! Currently, Pocono Organics is a USDA Certified Organic Farm and soon will be Regenerative Organic Certified. Our efforts focus on the gold standards of regenerative, sustainable, and organic requirements.

Guests can enjoy and purchase our produce year-round in our Organic Farm Market and Café, where our resident Chopped Champion Chef will be preparing farm-fresh food and sharing delicious and easy-to-make recipes.

We are currently hiring for the following positions: Field Hand, Dishwasher, Marketplace Associate, and Cook.

FIELD HAND:

Job Summary

The field hand will assist and facilitate all the planting, growing, harvesting, processing, packaging and delivering all produce on the property. Ideal candidate will have organic vegetable farming experience and/or education. Get in at the beginning of an exciting new organic farming start-up with unlimited potential. 40+ hours per week are available if wanted. Some weekend work required.

Requirements

This person must be an excellent communicator and self-starter.

Must work effectively as a member of a team

Must have experience in organic farming or desire to work in the organic field

Equipment experience is not necessary but is a plus

Physical Demands:

Requires working outdoors, in all weather conditions

Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, plus occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

Seeding, planting, watering, and harvesting produce

Labeling produce containers and boxes

Packing produce

Weeding

Well Water Management including pump monitoring and light maintenance

Harvest Report writing

Planting Reports

Salary: $12.00 /hour

DISHWASHER:

Job Summary

Our farm-to-table organic café is looking for a Dishwasher who can help prepare meals as per our standard recipes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating meal portions, cleaning food, cooking meals and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food presentation and quality.

Basic Duties

Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.

Sets up dish stations

Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.

Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.

Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.

Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.

Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day

High level of professionalism

Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Excellent verbal communication and organization skills

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis

Pay and Hours

The café is open from 8-2 Thursday-Monday

Hours will vary based on company needs.

Pay rate dependent upon experience.

MARKETPLACE ASSOCIATE:

Job Summary

Our Marketplace Associates are the heart of our front end. You play a major role in how our guests feel in the market and when they leave. You might be the first, last, and sometimes only associate that our guests interact with. We are looking for friendly faces to represent Pocono Organics in our Marketplace and Café.

This is a fast pace work environment, especially on weekends and during our meal rush. There are times when you must juggle several tasks in a short amount of time while helping guests: scanning items, processing payments, and maintaining a clean area, etc.

Basic Duties

Operate all aspects of the register, including cash and card transactions, scanners, and scales

Maintain a clean work environment, keeping register clear for incoming customers

Perform basic barista duties

Food running/table bussing

Inventory management

Other duties not listed above.

Pay and Hours

Marketplace is open 7 days a week from 8-4.

Hours will vary based on company needs, but typically will range between 20-40 hours per week.

Pay Rate: $10/hour + tips

LINE COOK:

Job Summary

Our farm-to-table organic café is looking for a professional Line Cook who can help prepare meals as per our standard recipes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating meal portions, cleaning food, cooking meals and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food presentation and quality.

Basic Duties

Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our proven recipes

Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen

Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards

Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day
