Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities for the successful Senior Accountant include:

Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances

Preparation of journal entries

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas

Preparation of work papers for annual audit

Assist with budget preparation and prepare the monthly budget variance analyses

Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules

Assist with initial internal control evaluations

Prepare ad hoc financial reports as requested

Supervising accounting staff

RequirementsIdeal Salaried Professional candidates will possess:

5+ years experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university, required. MBA or professional certification preferred.

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookups required; Macros preferred)

Comprehensive knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations.

Excellent communication skills

Strong general ledger/journal entry proficiency

Experience with month end process and procedures

Heavy reconciliations

Financial Statement Prep

Additional but Not Required:

Active CPA or pursuing CPA

Experience with cost accounting, fixed assets or sales and use tax.

SOX Compliance / testing experience highly desired

SEC Reporting experience highly desired

Software/System Expertise (multiple preferred but not required):

Oracle, PeopleSoft, Great Plains, Solomon Timberline, QuickBooks, Lawson, Yardi, SAP, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon), Hyperion, MAS90, ADP, JD Edwards, Crystal Reports
