We are looking to bring on an experienced recruiter or highly trainable individual with a sales background to work for our recruiting agency that is specialized in legal (attorney) direct hire placements. We primarily place insurance defense attorneys in California, with an emphasis on Labor and Employment, Public Agency, Litigation, and related fields.
A background in law (JD, paralegal, etc.) or the insurance industry is a plus. A college degree is required. Must be a fast learner, have strong communication skills, and good technology skills (the job requires frequent use of Microsoft word, LinkedIn, Gmail, and a simple to use CRM database). Proficiency with these basic systems is a must. Ability to quickly learn legal industry terminology is also a key predictor of success. Must be able and willing to make 20-30 cold calls a day, write well-written email correspondence, send 20-30 LinkedIn messages to new contacts daily, and be extremely responsive and professional to clients and coworkers.
The position is commission based. Full benefits (including PPO health, dental, vision) and paid parking will be provided after a probationary period. We operate on the industry standard of 25%-25% agency commission split. For example, on a $20,000 deal, your commission will be either $5,000 or $10,000, depending on how much of the work you did.
Additional company perks include paid-for Friday lunches, very flexible hours, a casual office environment, and all expenses-paid end of quarter trips for top performers (e.g. Las Vegas in April, Mexico this past July, etc.).
Typical new hires make between $50,000 and $75,000 their first year. Top performers frequently earn in excess of $100,000. (However, the job is not for everyone, many drop out before earning any commissions.) Commissions are uncapped and the potential to make $200,000+ your first year is quite possible and has been done by some of us, myself included.
