Overview :

The Solution Consultant is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to the business development and account management teams to drive the sale of products and services to both prospective and existing Blackhawk Clients.

The Solution Consultant is responsible for understanding the Client’s critical business processes, technical requirements and issues, and must gather the data required to analyze and identify the best possible technical solution to win each Client’s business.

The Solution Consultant’s primary focus should always be to help customers find a solution to achieve their desired, whatever technical implementation it takes.

The Solution Consultant is also responsible for evaluating existing internal processes, products and systems to identify potential gaps that, when filled, may benefit our Clients.

Responsibilities :

Ability to understand complex technical details, situations and systems and be able to explain these complexities to people without technical capabilities.

In other words, act as an interpreter to explain complex issues in a way that makes sense to people without technical skills / background.

Must have the ability to problem-solve and have intellectual curiosity the desire to understand and break down requirements, processes and procedures to figure out the best solution for the Client.

Must be comfortable asking leading questions to gather and understand requirements. This requires excellent listening and paraphrasing skills.

These skills are a must to ensure you understand what a Client is trying to communicate to you.

Must be able to communicate ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner appropriate for the audience, including executive levels.

Must be comfortable presenting information to an audience, as well as fielding spur-of-the-moment questions regarding the data presented.

Highly disciplined, with excellent organization and communication skills. Punctual, highly responsive in communication and highly reliable with sticking to commitments.

Ability to prioritize work effectively.

Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management (internally / externally), employees, clients and public.

Energetic self-starter : able to work independently and find answers when needed.

Participate in escalation of technical production issues with clients, and act as a liaison to Product / IT teams to resolve as needed.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science or other Technical Degree or equivalent work experience.

5+ years solution consulting experience.

Fluency in English is required; Fluency in French, Portuguese and / or Spanish is a asset due to the markets served.

Experience in creating and managing business requirements documents.

Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, flowcharting

Other Responsibilities :

Occasionally provide training to business development and account management teams.

Contribute to RFP responses.

Share knowledge and experiences with peers.

Never be afraid to ask for help or admit you don’t know or understand something.
