Laboratory Assistant - Providence Medical Group

Description:Providence is calling a Laboratory Assistant ( Lab Spokane Valley , Evenings, 0.5 FTE with 20 hours per week) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane Valley, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.This is a part time, evening shift position with 20 hours per week and is benefit eligible. Hours will be Mon-Fri, 4pm to 8pm.In this position you will:

Assist the Medical Technologist in operating various types of laboratory equipment to perform tests in chemistry, urine analysis, hematology, etc., under the direction of the Medical Technologist.

Maintain laboratory logs of tests as required and in accordance with generally accepted practices, policies, procedures, and protocols established in said area.

Participate in a quality control program and prepares blood samples and likewise for analysis at outside laboratories, as instructed by the Medical Technologist.

Maintain reagents and supplies; does the ordering, inventory and inspection of material to assure the valid dates of use and destroys those outdated supplies as required by state licenses, general practices and procedures in said area.

Responsible for all functions required by the outside laboratories and assures proper collection of information for billing purposes when necessary.

Adhere to established company compliance, policies, procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:

High School diploma or GED General Studies

MA-Phlebotomist state license required, OR must qualify, apply for and obtain the MA-P license within 3 months of hire.

Preferred qualification for this position include:

Laboratory or related science experience
