The Fresno City Attorney’s Office (CAO) seeks a qualified attorney in its Transactional Unit. The Transactional Unit handles a diverse set of matters including real estate transactions, development agreements, tax credit transactions, municipal finance, competitive process and public contracting, constitutional issues, Brown Act, Public Records Act, CEQA, redevelopment, and drafting ordinances and legislation. Attorneys in this unit would be expected to either have a working knowledge of these topics or be prepared quickly to develop a working knowledge of these areas.

Qualifications for the position also include excellent legal writing, research, analysis, and communication skills. A high degree of maturity, creativity, judgment, and discretion is required. The CAO offers opportunities to be directly involved in numerous high profile, interesting, rewarding, and challenging projects. Many projects are novel and complex. The hours are typically more regular than private practice.

Attorneys are not represented and serve at the will of the City Attorney. Attorneys must be licensed to practice and in good standing in the State of California. Benefits are excellent.
