The Strategic Sourcing Department has an opening for a Sourcing Packaging Engineer within the Own Brands and Manufacturing purchasing groups.

This position is in Pleasanton, California.

Who you are : The ideal candidate is an established technical packaging engineer generalist who can pick up and run with any category.

We are looking for : Driven leaders who can demonstrate that they are change agents, consensus builders and strategists who have experience utilizing a sourcing process, and whose calling and drive is to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Responsible for supporting and conducting strategic discovery events for different categories across the organization

Strong analytical skills : able to transform data into clear and relevant information

Develop and deliver high quality presentations

Establish relationships and lead Stakeholders / cross-functional teams along the process to get buy-in

Develop and lead price, and terms-and-conditions negotiations with suppliers

Lead Sustainability events from project kick-off to contract execution

Use and evaluate sourcing, sustainability and engineering tools and new technologies

Participate in spend analytics and work planning efforts

Create Strategic Sourcing partnerships in order to increase addressable spend and sustainability objectives

Become a category expert in understanding the category role and develop category playbooks and roadmaps to enhance strategic objectives

Develop objective event timeline and manage execution

Internal and External project management

Handle small to multi-million-dollar projects

Supervise and mentor entry level team members on building the financial model utilized to support objective events

Qualifications :

4-year college degree, graduate degree preferred.

4+ years' experience as a Packaging Engineer. 2-3 years in consumer product categories preferred

Experience in developing and managing strategic internal and external relationships

Strong experience with project management and managing strategic supplier alliances to deliver

Experience partnering with legal and technical terms and conditions

Strong business writing, and oral communications skills

Preferred Qualifications :

Consulting (including internal consulting) experience is a big plus

Degree or minor in quantitative field such as economics, math, statistics, managerial accounting, business management, etc. is preferred

Strong oral communications skills
