PDS Tech is seeking candidates for a Scientist role in West Hills, CAPosition Summary:Working within the Molecular Typing NGS group in R&D on new product feasibility, development, data analysis, verification, technology transfer, training, troubleshooting, and improving the existing HLA genotyping related products, reagents, and processes.Key Responsibilities:

Design and execute sequencing-based molecular assay feasibility, development, and verification studies

Troubleshoot and solve difficult problems in the design/execution of development projects

Work on NGS library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis

Participate in interdepartmental activities and research efforts

Working with other scientists on assay development

Requirements:

Ph.D. Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline in Biological Sciences.

OR a master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics or a related discipline in Biological Sciences AND 3 years of experience in product development focusing on NGS technology and its application.

Pragmatic self-starter who can manage self, motivate others, and operate effectively in a constantly changing environment

Broad and deep knowledge in NGS, DNA isolation and quantification, gene amplification methods, quantitative PCR, Sanger sequencing, and other relevant technologies

Well-founded formal problem-solving skills. Experience in designing experiments and interpreting complex data, and solve challenging issues to improve product performance with innovative approaches
