Dock Worker/Forklift Operator (Piscataway)

We currently have full-time Dock Worker/Forklift Operator positions working with our client, a 3PL Distributor in Piscataway, NJ. Starting hourly rate of $14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a sit-down forklift, adhering to all dock safety regulations regarding the movement of freight with designated equipment. Furthermore, the dock worker is to follow all standard operating procedures regarding the completion of dock paperwork and dock cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

Safely unloading freight from trailers either using a forklift.

Safely loading freight into trailers either using a forklift.

Locating unloaded freight properly and noting location on unload report.

Complying with all aspects of dock paperwork procedures while moving freight.

Ensuring that the dock and associated areas are kept clean.

Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and safe environment.

Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum of one-year prior experience required.

Must be able to drive and operate a forklift.

Forklift certified preferred.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Job Duties:

Load and unload trucks

Move and stack materials

Follow current good warehousing practice

Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guidelines and procedures

Schedule & Job Type:

12 pm to 8:30 pm, Sunday through Thursday.

Initial training 3 to 4 weeks will be on Night Shift; 4 pm to 12:30 am Monday through Friday
