Primary Purpose: The UX Designer and Strategist II will serve as part of the UX team as a master collaborator and design thinker who translates customer needs into innovative, customer-driven strategic artifacts and solutions in a fast-paced and challenging environment. This role will solve problems with creativity and analytical thinking, based on research, data, and industry best practices with a strong focus on service design. In addition, this role will create the design vision, build tools that accelerate UX teams and drive the design direction for the experience that users will have when engaged with a product or service. This role is key to ensuring we create intuitive, innovative and beautiful products that people are drawn to use - delivering on intended business objectives and value. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support leadership and peers in developing user-centric strategy communications and design thinking capabilities to deliver business objectives by optimizing user experience.
- Lead strategy sessions utilizing Design Thinking methodologies with business leaders and product teams to rationalize business opportunities and refine focus on the core opportunity and considerations to address.
- Research, investigate and evaluate technical and business requirements, solution pain points, and user behaviors and goals to design & develop intuitive and exceptional user-centered solutions, using current best practice user-centered design methodologies.
- Working collaboratively with team members to turn interface designs into components and functionality.
- Synthesize and translate user research and data into personas, user flows, user journeys and blueprints that lead to high quality intuitive user experiences.
- Collect and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions in an ongoing development process that strives to enhance the customer experience.
- Optimize the user experience through creating cohesive solutions with user interface and engineering peers.
- Identify design problems in existing properties and devise elegant solutions.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure design is reflected properly.
- Serve as coach and mentor to other UX and UI engineers and peers.
- Collaborate with UI teams as they deliver engaging interactive prototypes to convey new ideas, draft user flows, and provide recommendations based on usability analytics and behavior, while bringing a fresh design aesthetic to create visually clear, user-friendly and pleasant interfaces.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related field
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- Experience with a variety of design, project management, and development processes and methodologies including agile development methods
- Experience in facilitating brainstorming and product discovery sessions and getting consensus among a large, diverse group of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience storytelling and end-to end thinking at sketch/concept level
- Expert use of graphic design software including CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
- Key Skills: UX Design principles and deliverables, including rapid prototyping, site maps, information architecture, user personas, wireframes and knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Master's degree preferred
