Job Summary

As a Senior Ground Software & Systems Architect, you will own the design and implementation of Millennium€™s ground software and in-house mission control systems.

You will design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale software and related hardware products to a variety of customers to be installed both at Millennium€™s factory and at customer-owned and operated sites.

You will lead and support proposal development efforts to win new business. You will be involved with the ground development process from the start of the contract, going through design reviews, and leading up to the day of launch.

After launch, you will sustain your systems throughout the life of the program, ensuring our products continue to deliver mission success.

Responsibilities

Define requirements for ground software and systems

Create conceptual architecture and designs for ground software and systems in an agile environment

Perform trade studies in support of ground system development efforts

Interact directly with customers to ensure developed and delivered software and systems meet mission requirements

Design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver large-scale ground software and mission control systems

Interact with other Millennium staff to support testing on components, subsystems, and spacecraft in test configurations

Integrate Millennium software applications into Government-furnished software and infrastructure

Execute integrated system test events bridging Millennium-developed products and Government-furnished systems

Implement specific mission data processing applications into existing systems to support payloads and end data users

Support ground software and systems during on-orbit activities, including launch, early operations, on-orbit test, normal operations, and end-of-life operations

Write proposals for new ground software and systems in support of new business efforts

Minimum Qualifications

Active TS clearance with SSBI

Bachelor€™s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

Five (5) or more years of experience designing and developing ground software and ground systems

Demonstrated experience writing complex software applications in Python, C, and C

Comfortable communicating technical details verbally and in writing

Experience with iterative and agile software development

Preferred Qualifications

Master€™s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Math, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

Eight (8) or more years of experience designing and developing ground software and ground systems

Experience with Consultative Committee for Space Data (CCSDS) protocols

Experience with government off the shelf and consumer off the shelf based T&C systems (e.g., Neptune CGA, EPOCH IPS)

Experience with Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) and related systems
