Executive Assistant at Stringjoy Guitar Strings (Nashville)
Tennessee, Nashville 00000 Nashville USA

Vacancy expired!

Hi, I’m Scott—I know job postings aren’t typically written in the first-person, but since this job would involve collaborating directly with me on a daily basis, I thought it was appropriate.

A bit of background first: I founded Stringjoy in 2014—we make the best guitar and bass strings in the world, and we do it all right here in Nashville. We’ve been growing roughly 70% per year, and we’re constantly reinventing the way we do things as we grow. It’s a fast-paced, dynamic, exciting place to work—at heart we’re still a startup, and we all wear a lot of hats and remain flexible to do whatever it takes to get the job done each day.

Lately we’ve gotten to a stage in our growth where I’m so bogged down with the minutiae of running a company—answering emails, ordering supplies, tracking inventory, running payroll, etc, etc—that I haven’t been able to focus my efforts on the things that grow the company (marketing and product development). What’s more, organization has never been my strong suit, which can lead to untied loose ends.

So it is that I’m looking for an executive assistant—a right hand really. Someone to take as much off my plate as possible, so that I can focus my energies towards the things I’m world-class at.

This person should be:

Excellent at organization and willing to create order out of chaos

Resourceful, able to think on their feet and solve problems

Willing to do whatever it takes to help wherever they can (a “can-do” attitude, as they say)

A good communicator, comfortable both on the phone and with email

Digitally fluent and comfortable learning new software when necessary

The job will consist of a number of regular responsibilities—including but not limited to the “answering emails, ordering supplies, tracking inventory & running payroll” I mentioned above—as well as helping out with other projects wherever and whenever necessary, whether that means picking up pizza for the team, tidying up around the shop, or going to the store to find a particular part we need.

This is a full-time position compensated at $15 per hour and includes 2 weeks paid vacation the first year and 3 weeks starting on your first anniversary.

No direct experience is required—but enthusiasm for the job, personality fit, and any previous experience with transferrable skills will play a role in the hiring decision.

HOW TO APPLY:

Reply to this posting with a resume and a statement that explains:

1. Why you would be an excellent choice for the job

2. Something else you are passionate about outside of work
