- Collaborate with the product engineering team to ensure that requirements are well defined and verifiable through in-house testing methods.
- Create new test specifications to support the unique design characteristics of the KARNO technology to validate key requirements including function and durability performance.
- Support the build-out of a new test facility creating test equipment specifications and working with outside vendors to support equipment acquisition and commissioning.
- Create test schedules and manage test execution activities to ensure test results are available appropriate resource utilization.
- Lead the execution of tests and support the post-processing of test data providing analysis results to engineers.
- Lead the instrumentation specification development to ensure that the appropriate data is captured with the appropriate resolution, accuracy and repeatability.
- Support the training and mentoring of test technicians.
- Lead the calibration of key test measurement equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety standards
- Develop KPI's and related quantitative assessment for testing activities.
- Support the purchasing process to procure new test equipment.
- Support the development of EOL test equipment for production solutions.
- Expert at interpreting product requirements, specifications and developing appropriate test specifications.
- Expert at developing accelerated tests, writing detailed test specifications with appropriate instrumentation strategies to capture appropriate data and resolution.
- Expert at data processing and interpreting results to convey conclusions to engineering team.
- Automotive testing experience with working knowledge of standard powertrain testing procedures and standards.
- Expert in powertrain emissions testing including OBD certification testing.
- Experience in the handling and testing various fuels including Hydrogen, CNG and liquid fuels such as diesel and gasoline.
- Experience in testing of high voltage electrification powertrain systems and specifying/running associated test equipment.
- Expert in test instrumentation.
- Experience developing project plans to create and manage resources and equipment.
- Highly collaborative personality with a willingness to learn and adapt involving interaction with adjacent functions to solve complex issues.
- Ability to effectively and positively communicate verbally and in writing with customers (internal and external), to address their needs promptly and to follow through on commitments.
- Good problem solving and good communication skills, excellent numeracy and spatial awareness.
- Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions. Strong follow-through and self-starting nature.
- Willingness to travel
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience.
- Master's degree in engineering.
- 5 years in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, feel, or reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
