Description:
  • This Java/Oracle Developer position is within Research Technology and the candidate will be working on the GERA and iQ/RDR applications that are core applications in the Research publishing workflow.
Primary Skill: JavaScript

Required Skills
  • 5+ year of work experience with J2EE, Spring and Spring boot
  • Proficiency in the following areas: Java, Spring Framework, Maven and Git
  • Experience with JavaScript and JQuery
  • Test driven development ( JUnit)
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle
  • Experience in Continuous Integration environment ( like Jenkins and Bitbucket pipeline)
  • Actual work experience developing and integrating Web services (SOAP/REST)
  • Experience in Linux/Unix platforms
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies

Desired Skills
  • Specialize in core Java and Oracle with respect to ETL processing
  • Well versed with PL/SQL, XML and XSLT
  • Hands on experience in writing PL/SQL packages
  • Hands on working experience on writing Java Web services (SOAP & REST) Web Sphere, Web Logic and real time data reporting specialist
  • 3 to 4 years of experience with STRUTS 2.x Framework
  • 3 to 4 years of experience with Spring Framework
  • Experience with caching framework such as Ehcache, Redis and Memcached
  • Understanding of SOA and other frameworks is an added advantage
  • Experience with Agile methodologies/tools such as JIRA, BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, test driven development
  • Experience with SDLC and working with software development teams, QA coordination, UAT coordination, etc.
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Leadership skills and must have prior experience working in teams of 8 or more people
  • Proactive and eager to learn new concepts and technologies; consistent and reliable
  • Agile and ability to prioritize and work on multiple priorities
  • Very good understanding of financial regulations

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree - nice to have but not required
