ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate to help federal government clients implement and evolve their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability programs. This position will be based in our Reston, VA headquarters office. Successful candidates will support the implementation of U.S. government clean energy research, development, and deployment (RD&D) programs focused on advancing manufacturing technologies.Responsibilities

Leading the execution of U.S. government clean energy research, development, and deployment (RD&D) programs, especially for advanced manufacturing technologies

Providing technical assistance to assist the energy development needs of a variety of program stakeholders (e.g., private companies and local communities)

Supporting all phases of U.S. government program or project management, from project inception to closeout

Supporting the management and review of program scope, budgets, financial reports, and schedules

Conducting technical, energy, environmental, and economic benefits analyses

Performing market and technology assessments

Synthesizing and analyzing data and models related to energy technologies and trends

Synthesizing and analyzing technology R&D project and program information

Developing technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings)

Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing technical reports and assessments

Conducting internet and literature research

Engaging and communicating with internal and external program stakeholder groups, including understanding stakeholder group needs, priorities, and issues

Conducting research and analysis of energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and decarbonization programs and policies

Minimum Qualifications

Education background of a:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or

Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or

PhD degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience and technical proficiency with wide bandgap-based power electronics (e.g., silicon carbide, gallium nitride)

Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced analytical and Excel skills

Required Skills

Strong communication skills (oral, interpersonal, and written)

High level of self-motivation and interest in working in support of U.S. government clean energy programs

Passion for sustainability and clean energy

Highly organized and proactive approach to work

Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks as needed

Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

Team player with strong ability to work collaboratively with others

Professional demeanor and ability to balance respect, decisiveness, and tenacity

Preferred Experience

Demonstrated experience in energy analysis or consulting

Experience or expertise with data center technologies

Experience working with U.S. federal government agencies

Experience providing technical support to U.S. energy research and development programs

Demonstrated expertise working with complex spreadsheets

Advanced data analysis skills (e.g., Python, R, etc)
