ICF International seeks a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist – Translation to work on a national technical assistance project. The goal of the project is to support and enable legal representation to eligible arriving Afghans across the country and to expand the legal community’s skills and capacity to provide immigration legal support. The QA Specialist use his/her expertise to develop and implement an effective process for quality assurance and oversight of translation products. FT hours guaranteed through September.The successful candidate has translation experience, effective communication skills, and is a certified translator in Dari and Pashto languages. The QA Specialist will work closely with and under the oversight of the Consultant Coordinator to execute contract deliverables and services.Key Responsibilities

Develops and implements quality assurance review processes and procedures for translated products.

Leads quality assurance review of translated materials to ensure delivery of accurate and high-quality final products.

Reviews translated products with a cultural competency lens to ensure appropriateness and accessibility for the target audience of Eligible Afghan Arrivals (EAAs).

Provides oversight of, and liaise directly with, on-call and contracted translators, and interpreters.

Supports the Consultant Coordinator in receiving and reviewing requests for translation.

Gather feedback from both consultants and requestor during and at the conclusion of the engagement.

Use data and feedback to continuously inform and improve provision of consultant services

Follow up on any performance issues with consultant and/or contracted translators.

Contribute to regular project reporting and support for activities related to the project’s evaluation, including data collection and continuous quality improvement efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

Certified translator in Dari and Pashto languages.

3 to 5 years professional work experience with at least 2 years of experience in translation services.

Fluency in Afghan culture, customs, and norms.

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Experience with stakeholder engagement.

Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 security clearance.

Must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territories for 3 of the last 5 years (for non-US Citizens)

Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.

Supervisory and managerial experience.

Experience in a quality assurance role and providing oversight of translation services.

Working knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges.

Experience working for a refugee program

Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing administrative support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact and diplomacy.

Proficient with MS office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
