Department/Position OverviewThe Senior Research Associate will be a part of the multi-disciplinary and multi-modality Global Drug Product Development & Manufacturing group. The candidate will primarily support Biopharmaceutical Drug Product development projects for Cell Therapy (in support of the Genomic Medicine Unit) and Protein therapeutic programs. The incumbent will have the opportunity to work on different facets of formulation and process development for different modalities such as Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs), gene therapy capsids (recombinant AAV capsids), Cell Therapy and Protein/Enzyme therapeuticsKey Responsibilities

Execution of formulation, process development and stability studies in multidisciplinary teams

Work with internal and external partners to efficiently and comprehensively address formulation, stability and compatibility aspects using established assays, across a variety of technological platforms and disciplines.

Planning, prioritization and initiation of concurrent experimental procedures for multiple programs to ensure their timely completion is essential

Maintain a strong work ethic and good documentation practices including electronic laboratory notebook maintenance and writing of technical reports and SOPs

Analyze, compile and present results to internal and cross functional teams comprised of members from multiple groups and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree in biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline or a Bachelor’ degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience

Knowledge of cell culture and aseptic technique is required

Ability to multi-task and learn new skills and possess flexibility and adaptability that is needed in a fast-paced team environment

Advanced (or Preferred) Qualifications

Experience in handling and maintaining mammalian cell culture, characterizing lipid nanoparticles and viral gene delivery vectors is a significant plus

Knowledge of techniques commonly used to measure physical and chemical characteristics of cell populations such as flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy

Experience with drug product process development including fill finish unit operations, scaleup, and tech transfer

Basic understanding of statistical data analysis. Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
