Description Robert Half has an immediate opening for a highly responsible Medical Collections Specialist with an eagle eye for detail. This position is a great fit for those interested in breaking into the healthcare field and cultivating their skills. A temporary to permanent role, the Medical Collections Specialist will work out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Your responsibilities

Look into overdue amounts for patients and insurance organizations and track account changes within practice management system

Manage incoming and outgoing calls regarding medical collections, including contacting patients about appointments, verifying insurances, co-payments and explanation of benefits.

Maintain and update patient accounts; accordingly, analyzing if collections are needed, effectively working alongside of collections manager. -update Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with accurate information; running reports for necessary medical and confidential information. -insurance verification, collecting co-payments, handling bankruptcies notices.

Requirements - Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

Medical Insurance experience highly desired

Foundational knowledge in explanation of benefits (EOB's)

Medical collections experience desired

Adeptness in Medical Insurance Verification

General familiarity with Google Docs

Deep understanding of Billing Statements

Knowledge of Billing software

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Excellent problem solving skills in Microsoft Office applications

High School diploma or equivalent required

Healthcare practice management software experience preferred

Minimum of 1+ years of prior healthcare collections experience
