This position is an integral part of the finance and cfc teams and driving and improving MSC’s performance.The main responsibilities will include monthly forecasts for the location for the P&L and balance sheet, driving continuous improvement in the facility, variance analysis of various spend line items, and serving as a member of the CFC leadership team. This person will also work closely with the MSC accounting team to partner through month end close and audits.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for financial closing process for CFC

Maintain/develop trackers for labor and variable spending to optimize performance

Work with plant leadership team to develop annual plant operating budget and management presentation, monthly forecast updates and full year forecasts

Identify key performance metrics that impact conversion costs and work with operations on reduction opportunities and report those metrics as appropriate KPI’s

Analyze conversion costs and productivity of the plant to drive operational improvement in focused areas

Provide financial leadership for capital management, including working with the manufacturing organization to prepare financial analysis related to cost savings & maintenance projects (“AFEs”)

Utilize forecast data to drive recommendations and actions in the facility

Key participant in other plant leadership team initiatives such as safety, quality, etc.

Inventory control focused on eliminating monthly physical count variances, reduction of slow moving/obsolete inventory; managing inventory on a FIFO basis, and coordinating a successful annual tagged physical inventory

Participate in review of RFP’s for plant equipment and support other indirect procurement projects

Control and maintenance of fixed asset inventory to include annual fixed asset audit

Finance representation on Lean events / ensure proper identification of hard vs. soft dollar savings

Review of CFC-originated capex deployment schedules / ensure compliance with capex policy

Evaluate and analyze plant profitability at a SKU level

Educate and engage staff on plant financials, spend tracking, and operational levers

Assist management with financial analysis or special projects

Maintenance of internal financial controls

Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose

Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field required. MBA preferred

6+ years of related experience preferably in the areas of Supply Chain or Manufacturing

SKILLS:

MS Office proficiency required and ideally proficient in Tableau or similar data and analytical platforms

Strong ethics and organizational courage required

Continuous improvement mind-set

Communicates openly and effectively

Financial acumen

Understanding of the distribution industry

Ability to identify problem areas and/or patterns and drill down to root cause required.

Ability to work autonomously; self-driven and cross functionally required.

Ability to clearly communicates data into actionable insights

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Functional Leaders

Experience with cross-functional collaboration, especially with IT and Finance required.

Experience using financial and analytical tools required

Excellent analytical, data-manipulation, problem solving, and communication skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to seek resources as needed

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 20% of the time may be required.

While performing duties of this job the associates may occasionally be required to sit or stand, climb or balance, kneel, stoop our crouch or lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job of close vision, distance vision, color or depth perception.
