EOE/AA - M/F/Vet/Disability/Drug-Free Workplace SMSI, LLC is seeking all levels of Project Controls Professionals for long term, permanent assignments at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM. SMSI has over numerous positions to fill. The need is immediate. SMSI has long term contracts at LANL to support a variety of ongoing nuclear weapons programs. Performs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. Performs schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. Supports project or program organizational and administrative activities, when delegated. Supervises and provides technical direction for cost engineering and/or planning/scheduling activities, when delegated. Ensures work is completed as scheduled. Identifies trends for management attention. Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and Laboratory objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. Considered expert in field within the organization. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. May coordinate activities of other personnel. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and determines the methods and procedures needed for new assignments. All levels require experience in using cost processors and EVMS reporting tools such as Primavera, Cobra, wInsight or Empower SMSI is in need of the following: Project Controls Managers, Senior Project Controls, Mid-Level, and Junior Level Project Controls Professionals for the Nuclear Weapons Program: 1. For Project Controls Management Positions: Must possess at least 15 overall years of comprehensive project controls experience and at least 5 years direct management experience in scheduling, planning, Earned Value Management, progress reporting, and program oversight. Must be expert with Primavera products and EVMS packages (specifically Primavera 6). 2. For Senior Positions: Must possess at least 15 years of comprehensive project controls experience in scheduling, planning, Earned Value Management, progress reporting, and program oversight. Must be expert with Primavera products and EVMS packages (specifically Primavera 6). 3. For Mid-level positions: Must possess at least 10-15 years of project controls experience in scheduling, planning, Earned Value Management. Must be expert with Primavera products and EVMS packages (specifically Primavera 6). For all positions: Must be able to possess an active DOE Q clearance (or DoD TS/SCI) Desired: BS or BA degree in engineering, science, business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferable; experience substituted for degree Must have experience in DOE and NNSA programs Must be knowledgeable on DOE Orders and Guides related to Project Management and EVMS Must be knowledgeable of the NNSA 6.X Weapons Lifecycle All candidates must possess: US Citizenship Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills Capability with MS Office Suite Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultant on a day-to-day basis.
