Position: HR GeneralistThe HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position reports to the Chief HR Officer. Required Duties:

Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and entering of new employees in HR systems and internal databases.

May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.

Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.

Work within a team and independently on special nonrecurring and ongoing HR projects.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

A broad knowledge of human resources with at least 5 years HR Generalist experience in a managerial capacity. Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.

Experience in benefits administration and the technical and administrative skill to apply that knowledge to moderately complex, non-routine situations.

Ability to use Word, Excel, Internet, and e-mail.

Ability to read and understand documents such as business correspondence, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and/or procedures manuals and to write routine reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals.
