Job SummaryThe Medical Records Specialist is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the Medical Records. The Medical Records Specialist participates in quality assurance activities such as chart audits and data collection developmentEssential Responsibilities and Metrics Maintenance of open an closed medical records to include, storage and updates Maintains & updates all clinical forms as well as new client packages Proactive in updating medical record practices and guidelines as deemed by state and other governing institutions Collaborating with Clinical Director and Clinical Operations Manager to provide training to all clinical staff regarding any required changes that may impact medical records Oversees DocuSign templates and processes Assists in training staff to properly complete any digital records requests forms Prepares and reviews medical records request Processes medical records request under direction of Clinical Operations Manager and/or Clinical Director Participates in chart audits Maintains & updates Josselyn forms Provides back-up coverage for Receptionist and Client Account Specialist on an as needed basis Provides back-up coverage for setting client fees and explains clients' financial responsibilities, on an as needed basis Process closed clients medical record weekly or sooner Processes Health QuestionnaireQualifications High School diploma Five plus years' experience working in a medical records department Demonstrate the ability to learn Agency billing software Proficient in Microsoft, Word, and ExcelInd3
