JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Mill Operator Who we are looking for: We
are currently looking for a Mill Operator to be based out of De Pere,
WI. Reporting to shift supervisor, this person will be responsible for
running the mill efficiently and safely while ensuring high quality
product is being produced. This person will diagnose issues with the
mill and will recommend corrective actions to address the issues. This
person will ultimately be the main operator running a tube mill. What
you'll do: Mill Operator responsibilities include, but are not limited
to: Discusses order status, mill issues, quality issues with previous
shift. Responsible for reviewing and filling out all mill orders to
ensure accuracy. Ensuring correct amounts and steel types are being
utilized for the order. Verifying all e-stop locations are functioning
properly. Ability to read measuring tools accurately including
micrometers for accurate steel width and thickness. Changes out scarfing
tool and safely handles the remaining waste to be discarded. Operates
specialized tube mill equipment. Completes downtime report including
coils used. Mill Operator will install all safety guards prior to
running the mill. Mill Operator will be able to manually start and stop
the mill and be the main individual running the tube mill. What you'll
bring: Strong mechanical ability preferred and experience a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shop
orders, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and
company rules. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as
proportions, percentages, area, and circumference. Ability to apply
concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Trouble shooting ability to
apply common sense to carry out instructions to crew members furnished
in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to use reciprocating saw,
hydraulic weld tester, micrometers, measuring tape, corner radius
gauges, feeler gauges, protractor, JIB Crane, and basic hand tools.
Within 3 months, you'll: Complete required training to operate mill.
