Seeking Mechanical Design Engineer I with technical, business and financial acumen who will report to Snr. Engineering Manager within the Global Engineering Services (GES) team. As a Site Repair Development Engineer, will be responsible for providing extensive mechanical aftermarket product design knowledge and experience relating to Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) and Mechanical System and Components (MS&C) products. Will be required to lead novel, Bigger, Bolder, Faster and Make it Happen engineering projects relating to Productivity, Cost takeout, Value Engineering and Workscope standardization programs to ensure that business objectives are achieved through Product Design improvements. Key Responsibilities Product focused and add value by changing the current design to support business objectives Ensure a disciplined and data driven approach is utilized for technical decisions Support GES productivity goals utilizing the Value Creation Process Drive GES material savings financial acumen to ensure productivity compliance Develop innovative repair designs to restore Aftermarket parts Operate as a team member in Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and Honeywell Operating System (HOS) Establish a technical interface between Honeywell customer support representatives and customers Partner with our customers to identify and execute actions to drives future growth opportunities Site Repair Development Engineer U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.YOU MUST HAVEBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematicsWE VALUE Master’s Degree in engineering, Science or BusinessSix Sigma Green Belt, Design for Six Sigma, Black Belt/MBB or Lean Expert/Lean Master certifications Must have excellent interpersonal skills, able to interface with all professional and technical disciplines within a repair environment Program Management experienceAdvanced communications/presentation/ leadership/people skills are essential Strong experience presenting projects to executive level leadershipIntimately familiar with FAA Aftermarket regulationsAbility to think big, bold, courageous, challenges conventional wisdom and legacy practicesLeads by example - positive, big picture perspective, personal accountabilityFlexibility and open leadership style - approachable, listens aggressively, relates well to employees and customers alike, adaptable to changing requirements and prioritiesCommunicates purpose and meaning - energizes people around the organization’s vision, creates win-win solutions for personal development, defines linkage between customer requirements and everyday tasksBuilds trust - high integrity, displays personal courage and commitment, empowers othersResults oriented - removes barriers, streamlines the infrastructure, open to new opportunities at all levels, looks for bottom line results rather than adherence to formRisk management - maintains customer commitments, balances risks vs opportunities for improvement, challenges the status quoInnovation - simplifies tasks, maintains priorities and pushes the envelope on innovation wherever possibleTeam building - recognizes the effort, continually develops people, and expects the best, makes the "team" the customer's best known/best valued assetDemonstrated business acumenTechnical/ R&O engineering management skillsAbility to negotiate contracts/agreements with customers at a high levelPartner with Engineering and ISC leaders in executing leaner/faster processes to achieve AOP and Strategic Plan objectivesEstablish and execute on clear goals to achieve significant cost, quality, delivery and productivity improvements - “Bigger, Bolder, Faster”Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer.
