The Assistant Director of Development provides high-level fundraising support and coordination for the Unit Leader and Development Officers within the College of Business, Close School of Entrepreneurship, Goodwin College of Professional Studies, and School of Education. As a member of the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA), the Assistant Director is responsible for the operations relating to the fundraising programs for the Colleges and School as well as for elevating their constituent engagement and donor stewardship. They work in collaboration with the Drexel Fund, Alumni Relations, Donor Relations and College/School staff on outreach, events, and special projects. This individual will work in a robust, complex database of constituent data, generate reports, and manage the overall day-to-day activity and tasks in support of the Unit.

The Assistant Director of Development will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Development. This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Essential Functions

Collaborates with the Unit's development officers to determine strategy and best practices for building and implementing targeted alumni engagement and stewardship campaigns.

Generates reports to be used to analyze program effectiveness, identify donor candidates for upgrade, and identify trends.

Responsible for implementing and tracking acknowledgement and thank you letters and prooing and editing materials for accuracy and clarity.

Create an annual operating plan and project management strategy outlining goals for events and fundraising efforts for the fiscal year.

Creates a donor stewardship plan in collaboration with Institutional Advancement staff, Deans, and Department members.

Ensures health of the Advance database by accurately entering reports of contact, documenting communication with constituents properly, and ensuring relevant information is stored for historical purposes.

Maintains donor information and data integrity with this database.

Project manages and works closely with Unit development staff to ensure prospects are engaged and managed efficiently.

Collaborate and work with the Unit Leader, Development Officers, central Marketing & Communications, and the Drexel Fund to support development efforts among recent graduates, annual giving donors, parents & friends.

Assists in the coordination of various on and off-campus special events.

Organize events to engage parents at different times throughout the year.

Maintains giving pages include most updated information as possible.

Assists with division-wide events such as Homecoming, Day of Giving, Alumni Weekend, and Commencement.

Responsible for disseminating information, scheduling and other administrative tasks as assigned for the Unit Leader and team.

Maintains current knowledge of university-wide institutional priorities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.

Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a fundraising, non-profit, and/or higher education environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Strong writing and editing skills.

Strong computer skills and experience and interest in managing data.

Highly motivated and organized.

Self-starter with the ability to take direction from multiple constituencies.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of CS Advance and Tableau.

Experience and/or knowledge of email marketing strategies.

Valid Driver's License.

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt with a grade of J, salary range $47,490 - $71,230. The offered rate is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience.
