Description Robert Half is seeking an eager and ambitious Accounting Manager that would be able to start immediately at a dynamic, progressive Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt company. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. Preferably, you should be able to establish and scale company accounting and finance operations. This Accounting Manager role is a permanent employment opportunity, based in the San Francisco, California area.This role assists Senior Director with overseeing Joint Venture accounting, month end close and reporting functions:

Prepare, review, and analyze Joint Venture financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare and review account reconciliations and analysis, including cash, investment and equity, identifying potential issues and following up with resolutions.

Prepare month end, quarter end and year-end income statement flux preparation and analysis for joint ventures. Process includes a thorough investigation of changes in, for instance, operating revenues and expenses.

Timely closing of Joint Ventures’ performance results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for joint ventures managed by Digital Realty.

Perform technical accounting research and translating accounting literature into actionable solutions.

Ongoing support of internal customer needs, specifically Asset Management, Operations, Sales, FPA, and Legal teams.

Performing ad hoc project as needed.

Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.

Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a portion of it being in a supervisory role, preferable with public accounting experience or experience with U.S. publicly listed company.

BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. A related advanced degree is desirable but not required. CPA is a plus.

Solid knowledge of US GAAP accounting, reporting and SOX compliance. Knowledge of JV reporting is a plus.

Solid knowledge of financial applications, concepts, and theories.

Demonstrated proficiency in journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis.

Demonstrated aptitude with ERP systems, experience with Yardi is a plus.

Demonstrated proficiency in technical accounting research.

High degree of comfort and strong desire to work in fast, dynamic environment.

Excellent communication skills, oral and written. A quick learner.

Advanced Excel knowledge is a must as this position will work with complex Excel spreadsheets on a monthly basis.

Ability and desire to acquire new technical skills.

Ability and desire to acquire new industry knowledge.
