Sr. Accountant

Description There's a career-building opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join an innovative Manufacturing company in a permanent role in the Newnan, Georgia area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is based in Newnan, Georgia with a company in the Manufacturing field.Major responsibilities

Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes Requirements - Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Strong time management skills preferred

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

Well-founded grasp of financial reporting

Command of sales and use tax

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience desired

Strong familiarity with month end closings

Proven knowledge of financial reconciliation

Account reconciliation experience

Experience with Microsoft Excel

Efficient in ERP systems

Ability to meet deadlines

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
