Thriving west valley structural steel subcontractor is expanding! We are seeking an experienced Shipping/Receiving Manager. This position will manage our shipping/receiving department. We emphasize a positive and professional attitude and strong communication skills.
Duties
- Oversee the shipping/receiving operations, ensuring efficient and accurate receipt of all incoming shipments
- Manage a team of receiving associates, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and inventory control, to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods
- Utilize Tekla and other software tools to track and manage receiving activities
- Conduct regular audits to verify accuracy of received goods and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Implement process improvements to streamline receiving operations and increase efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse management steel yard setting
- Forklift experience using a 36,000+ lb forklift (must have 3 yr minimum)
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team, including coaching, training, and performance management
-Able to read and write English/Bilingual a PLUS
-Safety inspections, forklift inspections
-Computer Skills - Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Tekla skills a PLUS
-Ability to lift 75 lbs. Able to bend, stoop, crouch, twist, lean, reach, kneel, pick up and lift raw materials of various weights and of various lengths
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
