Join Gilead and help create possible, together.Job DescriptionMaking an impact on a global scale, for over 30 years, Gilead has been a leading innovator in antivirals Because of this Gilead was able to quickly mobilize during the pandemic, launching the first approved antiviral for the treatment of COVID-19. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies for Gilead’s second antiviral for COVID-19 focused on the outpatient setting.The Senior Director of Outpatient COVID-19 Promotions will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing for the Outpatient COVID-19 business and will lead the Healthcare Professional (HCP) strategy and execution for Gilead’s novel oral antiviral for COVID-19. The successful candidate will be a key leader on the Marketing team responsible for the strategy and execution of HCP promotions in support of the Outpatient COVID-19 market. A key responsibility will be the launch of our oral COVID-19 therapies in the United States. They will provide strong leadership skills with the ability to set a vision, manage change, and drive performance within a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic commercial environment. The Senior Director will be responsible for budget oversight and management of key agency partnerships.Essential Duties and Job Functions:

Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and tactical promotional plans for HCPs

Develop the outpatient COVID-19 Plan of Action (POA) for field sales teams; coordinate with Commercial Learning and Development (CL&D) to guide the implementation of the new training resources

Distill market research findings into insights that support the POA, positioning, and messaging. Coordinate with the market insights team to set the future direction for insight generation

Cultivating relationships with thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizations

Partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, and Public Affairs, lead cross-functional projects as needed to support the launch

Representing US outpatient COVID-19 marketing position on Promotional Review Committee

Working in close conjunction with commercial operations to establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics, and infrastructures

Collaborating with other marketing and sales leads to ensure a coordinated approach for product promotions

Develop marketing solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

Assist with forecasting and budget decisions

Identify and manage key agency partnerships to support commercial efforts

Design the transition to the branded campaign and full build-out of all promotional materials (both personal and non-personal promotions)

Collaborate in partnership with CL&D on the training and integrating of a new sales team, focused on primary care and urgent care settings

Leading a cross-functional team to monitor and understand the rapidly changing outpatient COVID market. Provide recommendations for resource allocation (i.e., marketing mix) to adjust accordingly

Lead competitive readiness planning for future anti-virals, vaccines, and other COVID treatments in the marketplace

Broad marketing and relevant cross-functional experience required.

Strong product launch experience

Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product life cycle management in a variety of therapeutic areas.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and fourteen years of experienceORMaster's Degree and twelve years of experienceORPhD and twelve years of experiencePreferred Qualifications:

10+ years of marketing experience, primarily within pharma/biotech.

Prior people management experience required.

Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical experience preferred.

MBA preferred, Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields required.

Healthcare professional promotional expertise in prior roles is preferred.

Extensive understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on the development of marketing materials experience or exposure to Gilead franchises is preferred.

Firm command of financial management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking.

Prior advertising, digital or communications agency experience a plus

The salary range for this position is: $255,425.00 - $330,550.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
