Well Bilt Industries USA, LLC in Ocala, Florida, is seeking a Working Foreman, with proven experience, to manage and aid in the assemble/repair/install of hangar door systems in accordance with engineered drawings for a job located at Joint Base Charleston Air Base, SC near Charleston, SC.

The primary role is supervising, training, managing, and overseeing work to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations, as well as enforcing safety regulations and protocols. This is a working position, and the foreman is not just a supervisor. Welding knowledge is a must.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides employee orientation and ongoing training with respect to equipment, safety, and process and procedures.

Creates and manages employee daily, weekly and monthly schedule and ensures employees are clocked in and out properly.

Quality Control: Ensures quality is everyone’s responsibility.

Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop including training, safe work environments, housekeeping.

Ensures that the work area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.

Ensures that all deadlines are met and communication is made with parties if necessary.

Assists employees in on-site health and safety emergencies; addresses and resolves personnel issues and complaints.

Oversees the inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment.

Is qualified to operate shop machinery such as welders, forklifts, overhead cranes, or manufacturing equipment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Possesses knowledge of steel processing and fabrication industry.

Is able to read and interpret work orders and blueprints.

Communicates clearly and effectively and is capable of translating industry terminology into straightforward terms for explanatory purposes.

Previous safety and/or hazmat training a plus.

Valid driver's license.

Willingness to expand their technical understanding to attend training for software’s, OSHA courses, etc.

Since military base access is a requirement for this position, all applicants will be screened for a criminal record. MUST have a clean background with no felonies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required.

Warehouse, factory, or shop experience required.

Managerial or supervisory experience required.

Is qualified to operate heavy machinery.

STEEL ERECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Structural Steel Assembly: Read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify the proper sequence and methods for steel erection. Assemble and connect structural steel members, such as beams, columns, and girders, using bolts, welds, and other approved fastening methods.

Rigging and Lifting: Use cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment to position steel components into place. Rig and secure loads properly to ensure stability during the lifting and placement process. Coordinate with crane operators and signal workers to execute lifts safely.

Welding and Cutting: perform welding and cutting operations to fabricate and modify steel components as required. Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards and use appropriate safety measures when operating welding equipment and cutting torches.

Structural Alignment: Align and plumb steel components accurately according to project specifications. Use levels, lasers, and other measuring tools to ensure proper positioning to fit. Make adjustments as necessary to achieve the desired alignment.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines at all times to maintain a safe work environment. Identify potential hazards and report them to the supervisor promptly. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance job specific knowledge and promote a culture of safety.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools, equipment, and machinery used in steel erection. Report any malfunctions or damage and assist in repairs or replacements as required. Keep work areas clean and organized.

Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, coordinating with other construction professionals such as engineers, architects, supervisor, and fellow ironworkers. Communicate and collaborate to ensure smooth workflow, resolve issues, and meet project deadlines.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time logs, progress reports, and material usage. Complete relevant paperwork, such as safety permits and equipment inspection forms.

DESIRED WELDER EXPERIENCE:

Utilized assorted 6010, 7018, 7024 electrodes and ER70S, 309L filler metals.

Welded plate & structural steel in accordance with AWS D1.1 codes and standards.

Welded mild steel pipe in accordance with AMSE Section IX.

Ran overlapping beads, performed butt, fillet, socket & groove welds.

Welded plate & structural steel in the flat, vertical, horizontal & overhead positions.

Welded stainless steel & aluminum in accordance with Military Standard 1595A

Measured, cut prepared & fitted segments of structural steel.

Experienced in operating hand torches, Plasma Arc, Air Carbon Arc Gouging, and Grinders
