If so, the State Correctional Institution at Greene is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative person with the required experience to work as a Corrections Activities Specialist. If you have the required experience and are looking to start an exciting public service career, the Department of Corrections wants to hear from you! DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Corrections Activities Specialist for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for organizing, instructing, and supervising inmate programs, leisure time activities, inmate work crews, and sports within your assigned institution. You will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and teaching programs at all levels of interest and ability in the areas of sports, games, creative and performing arts, and social recreation. You will be coaching or assisting in the coaching of various sports, such as basketball, soccer, and power lifting and demonstrating basic sports techniques and fitness equipment. You will also be responsible for supervising inmate organizations and self-help groups. Interested in learning more? Full-time employment (40-hour work week)

Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $56,208.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
