We are excited with all that the future holds for our industry, planet, and communities.Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer at Military Ocean Terminal Navy Base in Concord, CA to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment.Responsibilities

Participate in construction team meetings and provide regular on-site project presence.

Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety and health programs at project site locations.

Provide project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.

Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection, fire extinguishers, and first aid supplies.

Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.

Collaborate with project management team to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as the primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.

Maintain a written log of project site safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.

Plan, implement, and conduct project site preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.

Ensure that contractors and subcontractors comply with safety standards and requirements.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, engineering or related discipline or, the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of continuous and relevant construction safety in large scale commercial/ government/ industrial construction project management experience.

Current certifications in First Aid and CPR.

OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and industry and/or EM 385 1-1 40-hour Construction Safety course.

Additional Qualifications:

Working knowledge of EM 385 1-1.

Ability to provide on-call response.

Ability to manage positive and effective interpersonal, functional, organizational relationships with all parties.

Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and presentation skills.

Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state required.

Ability to review confidential US security information.

May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
