We solve the most challenging issues facing the energy industry today while informing the future of global energy use.ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate to help government clients implement and evolve their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability programs. This position will be based in our Durham, NC office in a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs to drive energy efficiency and emissions reductions across industrial and commercial markets.The Energy and Industry Program Statistical Model Developer will be part of a team that builds and maintains relationships with key industrial sector market actors, compiles and analyzes energy consumption data, and develops energy consumption benchmarking tools for specific manufacturing industries.Responsibilities

Supporting the execution of government clean energy partnership programs, especially for the manufacturing sector.

Conducting research into the energy use profiles and patterns of specific manufacturing industries, identifying available industry data, and defining variables that potentially affect energy use.Collecting, cleaning, and performing statistical analysis of confidential site-level energy consumption and production data of manufacturing establishments.

Evaluating and interpreting collected energy consumption and production data and analyzing using STATA and Excel.

Preparing documentation, written reports and analyses, and oral presentations describing progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions, as well as interpretation of energy/economic related information.

Interacting with government officials and private industry/company representatives to evaluate findings and results through an iterative development process.

Developing technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings, meeting notes).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data analysis, economics, policy analysis, resource management, or a related field with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree in these same or related fields with a minimum of 0+ year of relevant experience.

2+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

2+ years of proficiency in use of STATA, SAS, R or comparable statistical software

2+ years of demonstrated experience in applying a variety of statistical analysis approaches

Experience in energy data analysis, preferably from the manufacturing sector

Professional Skills

Ability to pass a background check to obtain, and thereafter maintain and abide by all federal requirements associated with, Census Bureau Special Sworn Status (SSS)

Advanced proficiency in analytical and Excel skills

Advanced proficiency in writing, editing, and organizational skills

Effective prioritization and organization of tasks

Professional demeanor and ability to balance respect, decisiveness, and tenacity

Ability and interest to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment

Preferred Experience

Advanced degree preferred

Active Census Bureau Special Sworn Status (SSS) strongly preferred

Experience procuring and analyzing energy and production data from the manufacturing sector

Experience with greenhouse gas inventory calculations

Basic programming skills, including Excel macro
