Software Applications Maintenance & Support Work with Data Program staff and Division of IT to develop enhancements to Software Applications, respond to software application support needs, and correct software application defects. Follow IT protocol for receiving and working enhancement and defect requests; gather requirements, analyze and design software application and database changes; develop and implement requested changes/additions; develop reports according to IT protocol and utilizing standard reporting tools; test software changes; coordinate user creation and acceptance testing with users. This applies but not limited to EMSTARS database, biospatial controls, and the Aggregate Reporting System. Software Applications Development Develop software programs according to identified requirements. Integrate DOH security requirements; program in language supported by Department; test software application; and create back-up procedures. Software Applications Analysis & Design Work with Division of IT and the Data Program staff to analyze and design Software Applications. Create design and database models and specifications according to IT modeling standards; and develop and implement databases according to database design. Software Applications Requirements Work with the Data Program staff and Division of IT to gather and manage software application requirements. Follow IT protocol for documenting, gathering, and managing requirements. Software Applications Implementation Work with the Data Program staff and Division of IT to implement software applications reports. Coordinate acceptance testing with users and follow IT protocol for migrating program to production. Serve as backup to other computer-based projects and research within the Bureau. Serve as backup to other computer-based projects within the section to include BSCIP and Trauma. Serve as a technical liaison with software vendors for the section's COTS (commercial off the shelf) programs and performance of the delivered product. Increase technical knowledge, skills, and abilities by complementing workshops, classes, seminars, and video-assisted training. Other duties as assigned.
