Vegos is hiring Line Cooks/Dishwashers! We are a small restaurant that focuses on vegan New Mexican cuisine. We are seeking energetic hard working folks who are passionate about food and who are very team focused. Vegos is home to a growing customer base of vegans and non-vegans alike. We are seeking a positive individual who is strong at multi-tasking, works with a sense of urgency, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Positions available are :
Lunch shift (10-3pm) 4-5 days a week, approximately 25-30 hrs a week, Fridays and Saturdays are a must.
Dinner shift (4-9pm) 4-5 days a week, approximately 25-30 hrs a week, Fridays and Saturdays are a must.
Qualifications:
Prior cook experience 6 month minimum
Knowledgable about food allergens
Strong communication skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Lift minimum 20lbs
Must be proficient in reading and writing
Must be self motivated
Must have dependable transportation
Must have strong knife skills
ServSafe Certified, or the like, Food Handler Permit
Starting Pay $16+ / hr

Job Duties Include but not limited to:
Read customer tickets/orders
Strong knowledge of menu, options and allergens to fulfill orders efficiently and correctly
Work cleanly by continually wiping down station and replacing sanitation bucket when needed/required
Sweeping/Mopping/Dusting
Assist with dish washing and putting dishes away (this is a team effort that everyone participates in)
Proper glove use
Safe operation of cooking equipment
Work with a sense of urgency and a pace that matches operations need
Filling orders, restocking the line, prepping future product
Follow FIFO procedure
Working with team to achieve a timely customer order
Reading tickets/orders and bagging items efficiently
Communicate with fellow team members on ticket progress/modifications/ETA

A little about us:
Vegos started as a tent and table operation serving at the Railyards farmers market in 2019. In 2020 we moved into a food trailer and started selling at various local breweries and coffee shops. In 2020 we placed 3rd for best foodtruck and 2nd for best chef by Albuquerque Magazine. In September 2021 we opened our doors as a restaurant and won 1st place as Best Food Truck in New Mexico by Edible magazine. In 2022 we made it in the top 10 list for best Restaurants in Albuquerque and in 2022 and 2023 we won best Vegan Restaurant by Albuquerque the Magazine.
