While the Principal Investigator is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the clinical research, the Research Assistant supports, facilitates and coordinates the daily clinical trial activities and plays a necessary role in the conduct of the study. By performing these duties, the Research Assistant works with the PI, department, sponsor, and institution to support the administration of the consenting and scheduling of patients for the study as well as ordering supplies and materials necessary for conducting the research.This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours/week.Essential Job Functions

Work with the PI and/or medical facilities to schedule and coordinate appointments for the medical procedures necessary for the clinical research project.

Manage consent forms, case report forms and other documents necessary for HIPAA compliance and clinical trial compliance.

Manage secure filing systems in electronic and paper format necessary to conduct the research.

Provide administrative assistance with ordering supplies and other administrative duties directly related to the research studies.

Work with appropriate personnel in Finance and Operations to track the expenditures and request invoicing of the sponsors of clinical research projects.

Work cooperatively with others and accept direction from the PI, Director of Campus Operations, and the Director of Research and Scholarly Activity.

Other duties as assigned by the PI.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Outstanding organizational and communication skills

Proficiency with oral/written communication.

Demonstrate intermediate skill level or higher data entry knowledge and computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Proficiency in such web-based programs as Google Sheets, Docs, Presentations.

Ability to work with high level of confidential material with an attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.

Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Finance, or a health related field or significant progress towards this degree.

One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Professional background in academic environment

Experience in organizing or supporting research activities
