CAD Drafter - Full Time/Hourly

Legacy Building Solutions is an established and growing fabric building manufacturer located in St Cloud, Minnesota. Today we specialize in highly custom, large and specialty fabric structures.

We are seeking a detail oriented CAD Drafter/Detailer with structural experience to join our team. Detailers are responsible for modeling, producing shop drawings, erection drawings and develop detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tension fabric structures using Tekla.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops detailed drawings for the construction of rigid steel framed tensioned fabric structures using Computer Aided Design software.

Designs structural steel buildings in accordance with verbal explanations, sketches, customer drawings, specifications, written descriptions/explanations and standard engineering practices

Develops drawings for manufacture, components and assembly of tensioned fabric structures

Prepares 2D/3D modelings of structures

Reviews drawings for completeness and accuracy

Detail and design using Tekla Structures to detail, check, model, create part drawings etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED

Associates Degree in Drafting; experience may be substituted for schooling

Experience with modeling software.

Tekla structures experience. Preferred but not required

Knowledge of construction and steel industry preferred.

Familiarity with business software applications (Word, Excel, etc)

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Exceptional attention to detail

Ability to self-managed multiple projects and work within deadlines

Work in a team environment with sales team, engineers, designers and drafters on projects

Ability to evaluate alternatives and resolve technical issues

Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, use hands etc
