The Supervising Employment and Training Counselor is responsible for planning, organizing, training, coordinating, and supporting the activities of a unit of Employment and Training Counselors and support staff who are responsible for providing vocational assessment, case management, counseling, and other employment and training services to clients. They will guide staff on a large-scale initiative that emphasizes the whole family when dealing with client case management and service provision. Additional responsibilities include:
Overseeing unit operations for case management of SonomaWORKS Welfare to Work and Family-Stabilization services
Participating in employee selection, performance evaluation, progressive discipline, and workflow assessment
Collaborating with other unit supervisors and program staff to ensure consistency in messaging and service delivery
Developing, revising, and monitoring program policies and procedures
Acting as liaison with partner agencies to ensure continuity of services
Training staff on policies, procedures, and best practices
