Primary Purpose

Provide direct supervision to Wraparound Facilitators, Family Support Specialists and Peer Support Specialists. Assist in the care and treatment of youth and their caregivers with psychiatric needs by providing consistent skills training, collaboration, and emotional support in a safe and secure manner.

Education and Experience

A masters or bachelors in a behavioral science OR a combination of relevant education and experience. At least 5 years of relevant mental health experience (two of those in Peer support). Prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Core competencies

A. Provide oversight of Wraparound approach and facilitation in order to establish community-based interventions that divert from hospitalization and insure stabilization in the community.

B. Establish rapport by demonstrating and maintaining clear, consistent, appropriate, and therapeutic boundaries.

C. Demonstrate alignment with the philosophy of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) by utilizing the approach in interactions with youth and young adults, families, staff, and community partners.

D. Demonstrate knowledge of youth development and family/group dynamics by adjusting therapeutic approaches to developmental level and family/group interactions.

E. Provide individual and group peer support and family support, as well as coaching within areas including but not limited to independent living/self-sufficiency, communication, wellness, psychoeducation, coping and self-care skills, and navigating the medical community.

F. Safely de-escalate youth and their caregivers, including in crisis situations, by effectively using Crisis Prevention and Intervention skills.

G. Engage in and provide ongoing trainings as relevant to Peer Work and Wraparound principles.

H. Concisely and thoroughly document daily clinical information. Provide timely accurate documentation to meet billing requirements. Must adhere to Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) and standards of care.

I. Oversee shift flow, assure that productivity, staff wellbeing, and documentation are maintained and followed, activities are carried out, and individual and group needs are addressed.

J. Promote positive staff relations through communication and implementation of agency policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.

K. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to assure smooth team function and task completion.

L. Provide and administratively document individual supervision for assigned supervisees. Ensure ongoing performance management and completion of performance appraisals.

M. Address issues of concern with supervisees immediately or at the next supervision session.

N. Provide program support to clinician in documentation of care plans when applicable.

O. Demonstrate a high level of competence and problem-solving skills in risk management, therapeutic interventions, and decision making while considering impact on youth their families, staff, and other departments.

P. Abide by ethical codes, mission, values, and professional standards, including confidentiality.

Q. Working knowledge and ability to utilize, reference, and follow agency policies, procedures, and guidelines to provide immediate action in daily responsibilities.

R. Present a positive attitude, professional demeanor and demonstrated respect with youth and young adults, families, staff, visitors, and community partners.

S. Perform all work tasks in a proper and safe manner per established policies, procedures, and guidelines to prevent unnecessary injury, time loss and agency expense.

T. Comply with all federal, state and agency health and safety reporting requirements.

U. Actively model, create and participate in a trauma-informed, consistent, and safe work culture.

V. Engage and aid in the coordination of community partnerships to provide Intensive In-home Behavioral Health Treatment.
