Veterinary Technician

The team at VCA Bering Sea Animal Hospital is dedicated to delivering quality patient care and client service while being an advocate for every pet. Our technical staff is used to the utmost of their abilities and encouraged in improving their skills and knowledge through continuing education provided by VCA.

Applicants must have experience in working in a veterinary hospital setting, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good computer skills, and the ability to educate clients and advocate for necessary care are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Venipuncture

Catheter placement

Radiology

Anesthesia monitoring

Physical examinations and patient assessment

Surgical preparation and assisting

Dentistry

Laboratory work

Pharmacy

Patient recovery

Compassionate care for hospitalized patients

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have documented previous experience

Licensed or licensed eligible technician

Must have surgery experience

Flexibility in hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays

Customer service skills

Working knowledge of computers

Excellent communications skills

Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
