POSITION SUMMARY:

Contribute to a team environment by planning and supervising the operations. Identify and communicate clear expectations for their direct reports. Help remove obstacles in the way of achieving results and establish a sense of urgency for self and team to act decisively and solve problems. Provide supervisory support, coaching, mentoring to the team. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, inclusion and safety of others. Grow business with existing fortune 500 customers and develop new business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervise, coach, mentor, direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback

Develop staffing schedules, fleet management, adding new carriers, OO to support growing business

Grow business with existing customers and develop new business leads

Effectively communicate with various customers, including Supply Chain, transportation providers (carriers, OO), distribution centers, shippers, etc.

Responsible for updating and maintaining various Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Responsible for regularly reporting performance of the team and operations

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation and supervision

Experience in DOT & FMCSA, DMV rules & regulations

Thru knowledge of produce industry, transportation and logistics, 3PL industry and relationship with key players.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

5 + years’ experience with progressive responsibilities in transportation brokerage/trucking industry and logistics environment.

Ability to lead and coach others

Good phone etiquette and public relation skills.

Good communication skills. Computer literate, go getter, positive attitude

Proficient in Microsoft office programs and databases, load boards, truck stop, and load tendering portals such as Lean, ITN, One network and other

Decisive & Ability to resolve complex issues in a changing environment

Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays on a regular basis

Familiar with DOT rules and regulations

DESIRED PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Previous freight broker experience

Proven ability to lead, train and motivate a team and ability to develop others

Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills

Advanced knowledge of carriers, freight brokers, and warehouse, 3PL operations

Proficiency with TMS and Routing Systems, and Web applications

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
