The Court is conducting open recruitment for the Software Developer – Project classification. Under the general direction of the Information Technology Software Engineering Manager, the Software Developer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality, and writing code in .NET Core and the C# language. Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC), from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. This person will also be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining all proprietary software applications and services deployed within the Court. Therefore, regular and punctual attendance is essential.

Duties that may be assigned include, but are not limited to, the following:

Execute complete software development life cycle (SDLC).

Design and develop new applications that integrate with existing systems to meet the Court’s business requirements.

Provide day-to-day maintenance and support on Court applications and websites.

Support and maintenance activities may include, but are not limited to:

Making changes to existing specifications; coding re-writes, updates, enhancements, or fixes to existing applications to meet business requirements and new legislative changes.

Performing quality assurance and testing to ensure applications meet user needs and requirements.

Developing SQL scripts to research and identify appropriate methods of resolving applications and database problems.

Develop data models, stored procedures, schemas, and tables for back-end systems.

Contributing to team effort by performing highly detailed work on multiple concurrent tasks under strict deadlines.

Perform related duties as assigned.

The IDEAL CANDIDATE should have:

Knowledge of:

Principles and techniques for SDLC.

Best practices in building secure applications.

Best practices in quality assurance.

Programming Languages: ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET 8, C#, etc.

Web technologies such as WCF, REST API, SOAP, Javascript, Angular, etc.

Web data formats such as HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, JSON, etc.

Scripting/Query Languages: SQL/T-SQL, LINQ, etc.

Microsoft Internet Information Services.

Visual Studio 2019 or later.

ABILITY TO:

Demonstrate an understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.

Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Demonstrate excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Analytically evaluate complex technical information, issues, or problems to generate solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in management of information systems, information technology, computer science or a closely related field. Additional relevant full-time experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree on a year-for-year basis.

OR

An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in management of information systems, information technology, computer science or a closely related field. Additional relevant full-time experience may substitute for the Associate’s Degree on a year-for-year basis.

AND

Two years of professional applications design and development experience, preferably in a court environment or an environment similar in size and complexity to that of the Court.

Applicants using a college degree to substitute for work experience should submit documentation to verify the substituted education; acceptance is subject to verification.

All of the above experience must be full-time or its equivalent.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of fingerprint and a criminal record background check is required prior to appointment and is a condition of employment.

All employees of the Court who operate a vehicle on court business must certify they possess a valid California Driver’s License and required levels of automobile insurance.

Convictions:

Felony and misdemeanor convictions MAY BE disqualifying for employment with the Court. The Court will assess the nature and gravity of the offense, the time that has elapsed since the offense was committed, and the nature of the job duties to be performed.

Employment Eligibility:

In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, all persons hired after November 6, 1986, are required to present to the Court, at the time of appointment, original documents which show satisfactory proof of: 1.) identity and 2.) U.S. Citizenship or a legal authorization to work in the United States.
