Associate, U.S. Real Estate Transactions

Associate, U.S. Real Estate Transactions (The Carlyle Group Employee Co. LLC – Washington, DC); Multiple positions available. Analyze and execute investment opportunities in acquisitions of real estate. Perform extensive financial modeling for single asset deals and portfolios, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, development of sources and uses, discounted cash flows, promoted and carried interests, and debt and/or preferred equity financing structures. Function as a point-of-contact for the entirety of the investment process. Engage consultants to conduct due diligence such as environmental/physical studies, insurance/property tax research, and related in order to maintain adequate research on prospective geographic markets and sectors. Utilize and effectively communicate both internal and external changes, including models and financial metrics. Prepare and/or review buyer/seller and lender closing statements. Develop transition plans for completed acquisitions.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in financial analysis. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: financial valuation and modeling; Argus; portfolio and market analysis; advanced Microsoft Excel; and, development and analysis of real estate investment. Experience may be gained concurrently.
