DescriptionThe location will be remote for this position, but preference is in proximity to Denver, CO. At the same time, our divisions continue working in the market sectors and communities that the Company has traditionally served. Bernhard’s vision is to be the leading EaaS provider in North America through the delivery of excellent, high-value service and innovative solutions for our clients.The Vice President of IS Engineering is accountable for delivering all Engineering division outcomes for the Integrated Solutions (IS, a.k.a. Energy-as-a-Service) large revenue projects or Energy Services (ES) large programs throughout the entire EPC/delivery life cycle. Total project annual revenue will typically exceed $25MM. Specific responsibilities include:

Lead one or more Engineering Project Management teams that together manage the Engineering scopes of work, all Engineering site activities, multiple projects, and any other tasks as necessary to guarantee and demonstrate successful project outcomes throughout the project’s life cycle. The project team may be executing a single large IS project or multiple projects as an ES Program.

Provide technical and non-technical leadership for the project and is empowered to make decisions necessary to solve issues and improve outcomes for the project.

Participate in business development activities such as proposal development and project interview presentations prior to the start of projects.

Work with internal and external clients to define the project scope, schedule, deliverables, risks, and expectations for project success.

Throughout the entire project EPC/delivery life cycle, be the primary point of contact for Prime management and the end customer.

With support from Engineering Project Management leadership, lead a project team to accomplish project management and site coordination activities. (Note that these are project assignments; the EPEx does not have direct reports.)

Lead the assigned project manager to execute all internal project communications, reporting, and meetings; plan project execution and define project work plans; track schedule, budgets, revenues, and scope performance; schedule and coordinate tasks and resources; perform project closeout tasks; perform change management; and perform all other project management tasks for the project.

Lead the assigned site coordinator to interface and communicate with 3rd party entities and resources on site; coordinate all Engineering site activities; perform and manage QA/QC activities; and perform all other site related tasks for the project.

Lead other team members and sub-consultants as necessary to ensure project objectives are met.

Continuously track and report project performance relative to target outcomes.

Identify, track, and implement corrective actions for all project issues that may impact performance or outcome.

Manage internal and external client expectations and ensure regular updates are effectively communicated throughout the duration of the project.

Participate in relevant organizations for networking and professional development.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Company Leadership.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Vice President, Engineering Project Management. Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, construction management, or related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

10 years of project management experience managing integrated project teams with annual revenue greater than $2M in one of the following sectors: Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or Energy.

Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of technical teams.

Strong demonstrated skills in technical analysis, organization, and planning.

Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Must possess the technical knowledge and acumen required to be the ultimate technical decision maker for technical engineering projects.

Extensive experience in an engineering design discipline, construction, facilities management, and/or energy sectors.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

OSHA 30 certificate.

Travel Requirements

25-50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Climbing stairs.

Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Quiet environment.

Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

The base salary range for this position is $131,700 - $175,900 per year however base salary may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
