SME will scope, design and develop transfer case content for multiple new product programs, including requirements and interface definition, up to the milestone hand-off. SME will lead the product engineering design review and sign-off processes for all new program transfer case content to insure compliance with cascaded requirements and design rules.You'll have

Design, develop and release innovative solutions for enhancing the performance, efficiency, and durability of 4WD and AWD transfer cases on new products.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure the successful implementation of new transfer case technologies and processes.

Oversee testing and validation activities to ensure the reliability and safety of AWD and part-time 4WD transfer case technologies.

Analyze data and provide technical insights to support product improvements and optimizations.

Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to automatic transmissions, drivelines and transfer cases.

Participate in and lead design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions.

Support the resolution of technical issues and provide guidance to other team members.

Even better, you may have…Minimum

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive engineering, specifically in the design and development of transfer cases, automatic transmissions, or related driveline components.

2+ years - Strong knowledge of 4WD transfer case design principles or background in manual or automatic transmissions. Looking for background including gear trains, clutches, lubrication, structural components, rotating components, threaded fasteners, and control systems.

2+ years - Proficiency in using MS Office based software and other software tools for simulation, analysis, and modeling.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Some travel may be required (<10%).

Preferred

2+ years - Familiarity with design and release tools including WERS, Teamcenter, 3DX, FEDE, MagicDraw, ED&T, DVP, DFMEA, Quality History and Warranty Analysis.

Experience with performance and durability testing of transfer cases, transmissions or other driveline components.
