Computer & Print Machine Operator - $18.75/hr

Express Employment Professional is looking for an experienced Computer & Print Machine Operator for a book company in Depew, NY.

Pay: $18.75/hr

Shift: Mon-Fri 1:30pm–10pm (need flexibility for possibly coming in earlier or staying later)

SKILLS REQUIRED:

-High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Data Processing preferred.

-Two years’ experience with computer systems and PC’s.

-Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

-Ability to analyze problems and select proper corrective action.

-Demonstrated solid written and oral communication skills.

-Ability to organize and work independently.

-Knowledge of PkMS (or other warehouse management system) preferred or ability to learn.

-Strong safety focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Operate the Nipson and Canon/OCE printers to produce printed materials by following printing job specifications, setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining the printing equipment to ensure it functions properly and tasks are processed efficiently.

-Maintain production quality by inspecting produced materials carefully to identify any errors that might have occurred during production and correct them.

-Import files from the mainframe and ensure proper match up of layout data vs. computer form in printing software.

-Communicate with other departments and Toronto as it relates to updates, changes in production, etc.

-Operate other equipment within the department.

-Maintain and complete daily logs.

-Maintain an accurate log of hardware of software malfunctions and report all problems to the Data Services Supervisor.

-Ensure that computer tasks are executed properly.

-Keep the computer equipment clean and perform other operator maintenance functions regularly.

-Update Excel files as required.

-Maintain accurate inventory levels utilizing the PkMS system.

-Prepare time and production reports as required.

-Will be trained in other functions within Data Services, Short Run Print and in the Warehouse based on skill set and operational need.

-Perform marginal tasks as needed

-Able to multi-task and shift priorities to accommodate changing job demands
