Accounting Clerk

This opportunity is with a company in the Manufacturing industry. The Accounting Clerk will match invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the Port Washington, New York area.What you get to do every day

Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

Submit financial figures to journals and ledgers

Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit Requirements - Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

Foundational knowledge in financial reporting

Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel

Command of Accounts Receivable (AR)

Data entry experience highly desired

Adeptness in general ledger

Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
