Position Summary:

The District Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of outside sales account executives within a defined territory. In this role, you will provide leadership to Account Executives and be responsible for territory development and prospecting.

Your charge is to build, strengthen, and provide training and support for your team while also supporting account management and relationship building with ranges and retailers in your territory.

This position requires travel in the following territory: Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.

Qualified candidates must be located in or near the assigned territory, preferably Baltimore or Philadelphia.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Select, train, and develop outside sales account executives in assigned territory.

Develop and implement a territory specific sales plan for maximum opportunity and consistent with company objectives. Assist in identification of new locations for expansion.

Support the personal and professional development of direct reports through defined performance objectives and coaching. Maintain staffing levels through talent acquisition, development, and retention.

Partner with region’s Sales Trainer to ensure success in the following deliverables:

Identification of target ranges and instructors

Communication of USCCA value proposition to range owners

Securing MSA/W9 documentation as a part of the Official Partner Program

Gaining access to classes

Improving conversion rates

Assist and coach our outside sales efforts and construct sales development action plans designed to generate, pursue, and close deals. Develop and implement tailored strategies, including our range and retailer programs.

Deliver training and facilitate weekly process improvement activity with your team that drives the creation and attainment of sales goals. Advance membership and revenue activity to achieve targets set by sales leadership.

Serve as internal subject matter expert on outbound sales segments to include market requirements, applicable regulations, industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.

Conduct quality audits of range and instructor satisfaction with the USCCA and assigned Account Executive.

Follow established policies and procedures, holding the sales team accountable to them.

Must be able to travel 70% of the time within the district. Requires evening and weekend hours. Travel within the district and occasional travel to company headquarters or out of district for industry events.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 3 years experience in leading others, preferably in a sales capacity.

Minimum of 5 years outside sales experience. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated business-to-business sales and business development experience.

Familiarity with or experience in firearms industry and/or gun range and retailers is highly desirable.

Must obtain or already possess home state Property and Casualty license (paid training provided). Licensing can be obtained during the on-boarding process.

Strong leadership and motivational skills. High level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels and functions internally and externally.

Knowledge of territory, related markets and clients.

Captivating interpersonal communication skills: written, oral, listening and presentation skills, both formal and informal.

Proficient in or ability to learn Microsoft Suite Products, Google Suite & Salesforce.
