Bad Ass Prep Cooks

Got what it takes to work with us? If you are ambitious and take your work seriously, and you love to work with food, then you may be right for our team. We are looking for highly motivated prep cooks to be responsible for preparing ingredients for the cooking process and setting up workstations in the kitchen. They will be required to perform basic cooking duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as assigned.

To be successful in this role, the applicant should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation regulations and guidelines. Applicants should also be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

Prep Cook Responsibilities:

Following prep lists created by chefs.

Setting up and sanitizing workstations.

Measuring and preparing cooking ingredients to be used in the cooking process.

Preparing dishes, such as entrees or sides.

Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.

Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.

Distributing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dishwashing.

Preparing takeaway packages for customers.

Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.

Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers.

Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.

Prep Cook Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Culinary school training may be advantageous.

Experience as a prep cook may be advantageous.

Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Qualification Requirements

Detail oriented and highly organized

Strong communication skills

Positive attitude, self-directed, creative thinker

Must be able to thrive in high intensity environments

Comfortable with fluctuating priorities and new initiatives as they arise

Must have a flexible schedule, willing to work some long days/some short days and weekends

Must have food handler's card
